Google tells NY Times and Washington Post to get off the Rag!

Google eyeing closer ties to news industry?

Google is currently in talks with the NY Times and Washington Post discussing how they can create and present news online. Reports have been surfacing the last few years, indicating that newspaper sales are plummeting. So ideally the time would be ripe for Google to make an offer to these sinking newspapers.

Google’s own news site is already an enormous help for newspapers, because it collects news from hundreds of sources and feeds the links to their news page. The user then clicks on one of the many links on the page which directs them to the website of the various publications all over the country. That kind of web traffic is priceless, when consumers are virtually ignoring the publications printed newspapers.
