WordPress Wants You...for testing?

WordPress Wants Your Help With Usability Testing

WordPress is a popular open source blog publishing program that is installed on the user's Web server, seeks the assistance of users nationwide in testing its usability. Introduced in 2003, WordPress is written in PHP and uses a MySQL database. Noted for its rich features, WordPress "Themes" provide numerous templates from which to choose a suitable look and feel. In addition, the site can be enhanced with dialogs such as user registration, user feedback and password protection.

Used by top news organizations such as CNN, Time, the New York Times and millions of online publishers, WordPress is web publishing tool to be reckoned with. Giving a voice to individual such as you and WordPress is a vital tool for the blogging community.

Previous testing was limited to only two states and the company’s owners have put out a call for professionals and test subjects to assist in this endeavor. A problem noted by the interface and experience designer, Jane Wells, is that testing requires a larger amount of test participants to eliminate usability issues.

That is why a call to a more diverse set of participants is needed and frankly speaking for the blogging community worldwide, very necessary.
