President 2.0? Get in touch with President Obama

Twitter, Facebook, MySpace Coming to Obama's White House

Tech savvy Barack Obama has garnered our attention again. After a long and drawn out campaign that proved to be one of the most technologically advanced in our history, President Barack Obama, who emerged as the victor with the use of social network tools, again shows the American people that he has his finger on the pulse of the nations most frequented messaging networks. The White House has announced that it has established new accounts on MySpace, Facebook and Twitter. The ability of our President to reach the people of this nation and the world are now limitless.

I am no stranger to Barack Obama and social networking sites. During his campaign, I contributed and kept up with the vital details of his campaign through his social networking campaign site (my.barackobama.com). I even joined quite a few groups on Facebook promote his candidacy for President. Furthermore, after his election, I joined (whitehouse.gov) for updates and receive emails on how I can collectively join with other supporters to help bring change to this country.

One of President Barack Obama’s campaign mantras was how he would do all in his power to ensure that his administration maintained transparency. He has done just that since the beginning of his presidency, by posting his addresses and updates on a dedicated YouTube channel for all to see. Joining the most popular social networking sites give our President an opportunity to tout his agenda to potentially hundreds of millions of people worldwide.

The benefits of befriending our new President and his administration via social networking give you unprecedented access and answers to issues through his officials who will provide some answers to following twitter users in real-time.

Isn’t it good to know you have a friend in the White House.
